Hi and welcome! I’m Kristen, a recent Baylor graduate who loves the brain, outdoor adventures, and new cultures.
For the past 4 years, I’ve been deep in the depths of the Baylor library, studying neuroscience and biology with the intention of being a physician. Occasionally, I venture outside to scuba dive, olympic lift, and hike, although I can also be lured out with Shorty’s Pizza Pillows (embarrassingly easily, I might add).
I decided to take a personal growth year before my next big adventure — medical school — so I can experience the world and grow as a person. More specifically, my goals include becoming more intentional, developing an appreciation for my privilege and my relationships, and pursuing Jesus more radically. All this, in conjunction with a passion for medicine, culture, adventure, and service, naturally led me to medical mission work.
Since September, I have been living in Trujillo, Peru and volunteering in local clinics and hospitals. It’s been an incredible experience, and I’m so thankful for the opportunities I have had here! When I return to the US, I will be working and volunteering in Phoenix, Arizona until I start medical school in August (tbd where!).
